I have a question re trying to make sense of my Genre tagging. I've read, re-read, and re-re-read post replies, and am going over and over the user guide... It takes me several readings to be able to sort everything into a meaningful understanding.
From the documentation it looks to me as if "Tag options" and "sortTags" is where I need to be looking? Hopefully an example will explain.
Due to inconsistencies between Musicbrainz, Discogs, CCDB lookups when ripping CDS, all this auto-tagging, combined with whatever artists and contributors upload to these various databases the below is an example of how the first entries in my Genre folder appear:

Acid Jazz
Acid Jazz|Afrobeat\Funk\Jazz\Latin Jazz
Acid Jazz|Contemporary R&B|Electronic|Soul
Acid Jazz|Disco|Funk|Jazz
and so on. The numerous combinations mean that the alphabetical display of unsorted genres runs into the thousands! And none of it due to any deliberate choices on my part. I understand that in the above categories, each 'sub' entry can represent just one track from an album - the remainder of which being tagged perhaps entirely as "Acid Jazz".
I'm trying to work out how to use the formatting options such that:
in the above list I'll take the third line

Acid Jazz|Contemporary R&B|Electronic|Soul
what I want to achieve is that this track will appear in each of those categories, but with just one entry in each (cross-referred if you will), so that "Acid Jazz", "Contemporary R&B", "Electronic" etc are displayed as just these single tag groups. Thus that line above, and which can represent just a single track, can exist as
Code:
Acid Jazz
Contemporary R&B
Electronic
Soul
The thinking behind this is simply that I can browse via "Genre", enter text, and have any track that might contain those terms neatly listed, as opposed to the current "dog's dinner" of arbitrary listing and special characters.
At this stage it's really not clear from the available documentation if this kind of filtering is possible on the "Genre" tag?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I wasn't able to find the answer anywhere.
I have used TwonkyServer for many years, and was hoping that MinimServer also allows me to browse my collection of music using an ordinary web browser. I only want to look at what I have in my collection using a computer, not necessarily play on my computer. I suppose my question is whether a computer with a web browser can be a control point?

| Need help in selecting content path to QNAP directory |

I have been using MinimServer without problems but now want to change the content directory. The existing directory is /share/Multimedia and I want to change this to another directory on the same QNAP NAS. This now to be: homes/Ian/IansMusic directory which already exists and is populated with music files. When I try to do this MinimServer says 'Must be a directory; correct highlighted value and retry'.
It would have been helpful if MS allowed browsing to the NAS directory.
What must I do to allow this change? My MS is licensed.

Hi Team.
I've follow the steps in another thread to add Live Radio streams to JPlay, but can't get it to work.
1. created m3u8 file. also tried m3u, see pic
2. saved it to my music in folder 'Radio Stations'
3. rescanned MS
4. full sync in JPlay iPadOS
Nothing shows up anywhere. Did search, assume they would show up in Playlists

What's the best android app to control your music, managed with minimserver, and play it on a DLNA hifi set. Preferably installed on multiple phones, controlling the same music stream. In other words. Everybody can start/stop music from their own phone, as well as changing playlists.

Hello
Is there a way to see recently added music in the minim library, with Wiim endpoint?
(lumin app allows that, and Recently added was the main reason I upgraded to v2 of the server)
