RE: [Tutorial] Installing the 'Java SE for Embedded' package on a Synology NAS
I got a message in Synology DS213+ that Java 7 SE needs updating. I go through the usual routine but keep getting 'Invalid File Format'.
The file is called - ejre-7u55-fcs-b13-linux-ppc-e500v2-headless-17_mar_2014.tar.gz I uninstalled the previous version then tried installing the new version and got the same error. I tried reinstalling the version I had previously and get the same error message. Now I don't have Java 7 SE on my NAS and can't use Minimserver. I put the file in my public folder on the NAS beside the others. ![]() The older two installed and worked before, now they don't install. Also, it doesn't give the details of the file I should download anymore... ![]() |

Thanks Simon, I'll try that although I don't see how that would impact on reinstalling the versions I had working before. |

From your post, I thought you were using the latest patters package to install the earlier versions. The patters package is tied to a single hard-wired version. |
