Because Lumïn app needs some more features that are available only in Bubbleupnpserver … but you can try yourself

I have tried this with my Linn DS using BubbleUpnpServer or its own OpenHome facility, I see no extra features in LUMIN using Bubble.
Which extra features are you referring to?

I use 8player since years without any difficulties or extra installation. You can use 8player for free or support the development and buy 8player Pro. With 8player you can either remote control your streamer or play directly on your iOS / TVos device.
Additionally there's the possibility to have remote access to your library if you are not at home.

I'm not on iOS but when I have to recommend one it's generally mconnect. Having said that the free version on Android does have its limitations (I haven't tried the paid version because there are much better options on Android):

• If you use the Group tag, have disc subtitles or display the disc number then track sorting is incorrect (although changing the sort order is a paid option, and 'No Sort' is one of the available options so that might address it)
• It doesn't support UPnP search
• The functionality is a little limited e.g. can't initiate play from an index
  

I have no idea if the iOS version is any different.

However, it doesn't need/support OpenHome (which is actually a slight disadvantage for you) and doesn't download the metadata of your entire music collection, so for most people it's probably the better option.

via SOtM DNLA with OpenHome option, the Lumin app works perfectly except Play, Stop, Skip Back/Foward Button, I utilise the Waste Bin button to stop

… as I told you … OpenHome option is not enough, Bubbleupnpserver instead is “tuned” to have the app working perfectly
