On the "devices" tab in elyric you can select the Server.

I'm using eLyric Music Manager for Windows, and I don't see a Devices tab. I see a Preferences dialog with a Connections icon. When I click on the Connections icon, I get a list of available servers that just shows the built-in local server, together with an Add button. When I press the Add button, I'm asked to enter a new address, with no explanation for what kind of address is required.

I think John means the eLyrics controller (an iDevice app), not the server:

Thanks for these clarifications. I'll persevere with the Windows version for now, mainly because I don't think I should have to pay to identify a bug in some software that I will never use for any other purpose.

Absolutely.

I've given up on this. I tried entering the URL for MinimServer's UPnP device.xml file in the "Enter address" field, but eLyric didn't like this. It looks like the Windows version of eLyric can only act as a UPnP server or a client to other eLyric servers, and not as a general-purpose UPnP control point. Even if I could get this working, I suspect that the bug is more likely to be in the PWD renderer than the eLyric control point.

Speaking of renderers, have you even played with Rygel? PWD/Bridge is running uClinux with rygel:

pwd# uname -a
uClinux PSAudioBridge 2.6.28.10 #8181 Fri Nov 18 09:14:24 MST 2011 ubicom32 GNU/Linux

I wonder if Linn DS is a Linux box as well.

I haven't played with Rygel. It looks interesting, but life is very busy at the moment!

I believe the Linn DS runs RTEMS.

Aha, so it's UNIX. But there is no telnet, since they have that LPEC on tcp-23. I wonder what soft they use for "rendering". It can be also rygel, BTW. However it could be something written by Linn in their beloved C#.
