From my earlier post:

On the Settings page of Playlist Creator, under Playlist Details, you need to select 'Relative' and 'Use forward slashes'. After doing this, you can click Open to import a JRiver playlist into Playlist Creator, then click Create Playlist to save the playlist in the correct format.

Have you tried doing this? You don't need to import the songs into Playlist Creator, just import the playlist that you have already created. This should work if you can access the songs on the NAS from Windows and the songs have the correct paths relative to the playlist you are importing.

Don't forget to use a different folder for saving the converted playlist.

So Playlist creator can't import music from my NAS correct? I cannot find where JRiver stores the music on my computer. I did a search and it came up empty. I even went into the JRiver library and looked at the path where they say it is in the program, put that into the search and still nothing. Man there has to be an easier way. See attached.

Your attachment shows you have the correct settings.

You could make a .m3u playlist in Playlist Creator by importing the music files. This would work for music files on the NAS if you are able to access them from your Windows computer via a network share.

I suggested importing the .m3u files instead of importing the music files because I thought it would be easier for you to import (Open) the .m3u playlists you have already created with JRiver and convert them to the correct format. Have you tried using Open to import a .m3u playlist?

Ok, so I figured out how to map my network drive and imported some songs from the NAS and (see attached) still have an empty playlist folder.

This relative playlist has filenames starting with "..". This means you need to place it in a subfolder directly under the parent folder of the "Manger Sampler" and "Boney James" folders, then do a Rescan.

Hang in there... we are very close. Smile

Your playlist contains references to a folder named "Manger Sampler". When you view this folder on the mapped drive, what is the name of the folder that contains the "Manger Sampler" folder?

Thanks for this. You need to do the followng:

1) Create a new "playlists" folder on the NAS that appears in the same folder list as "Manger Sampler" , "Mariah Carey", etc.

2) Move the 'RB test playlist.m3u' file to this new "playlists" folder

3) Do a MinimSever rescan

This should fix the "unknown file" errors and should show your songs when you open the "RB test playlist" playlist.

What if I start from scratch and get rid all the empty playlist folders on the NAS. Can I create a new playlist in Share/Multimedai?
