installing minimserver on readynas
Hello,
unfortunately I had to change the disks in my readynas Pro6. I succesfully installed Java RE (EJRE version ejdk1.8.0_06 is now installed.) The installation of mimimserver now fails. In frontview I get an error in dutch which translates into English: "the installation of this add-on conflicts with an existing service". Any help is appreciated (Simon?) cheers, Stefan |

Installing an older version of minimserver (0.8.1) gave the same error in frontview.

RE: installing minimserver on readynas
The problem isn't related to Java. It's related to MinimServer. It appears that MinimServer wasn't uninstalled completely when you replaced the disks.
The next step would be to extract this file from the MinimServer installation package as described in the referenced thread. This is slightly tricky, so I am attaching a copy here. You need to do the following: 1) Copy the remove.tar.gz file to the NAS 2) Login to the NAS via SSH as root 3) Use tar xf to extract the remove.sh file 4) Run the remove.sh file If this is successful, the remove.sh file will be deleted as the final step of the removal process. |

RE: installing minimserver on readynas
Just had this problem myself. And it worked fine by using the supplied file from Simon. I did a factory restore on my Readynas, and afterwards I used a configuration backup to restore my previous settings. Obviously this was the case of the conflict message.
