RE: Sorting in folders
That did it, the first artist displays correctly now. Thank you. I am wondering where I can specify prefixes and suffixes, or does the program identify them automatically?
Another question about tags indexed. The library home screen automatically displays x albums, y items and z playlists. Can I get the other tags to display that as well, e.g. n artists, etc.? I know that it displays a number in brackets when I go back after I followed a tag (e.g. Artists (28)), but it is only the total number of a subsection. I also would prefer for the number to include only real tags without counting ">> Show All", ">>Hide Contents" or "View All" (e.g. Artists (27) in the example above). I can get the total number by selecting "View All" and then go back, but this seems to be a bit of a detour. |

If you are referring to the prefix and suffix used by tagFormat, these are specified as part of the format string described in this section. If I have misunderstood your question, please clarify. The number in parentheses is added by the control point (e.g., BubbleUPnP) after you have selected the menu item, not by MinimServer. It isn't possible to configure index entries (the tags listed in indexTags) to show the number of choices. This information isn't available at the time the index entry is displayed, and it would require significant extra processing to compute it at this stage. |

RE: Sorting in folders
It reads very technical and I am not sure how it plays in practice, say with something like Grover Washington Jr, which is currently tagged as Washington Jr, Grover. Is Jr treated as suffix? How would it work with something like Dr J?
Shame about the totals. How come it works for albums and items? |

The prefix and suffix in the section I referenced aren't the same as the prefix and suffix for a person's name. The reversal algorithm looks for the first comma and treats everything before the comma as last names and everything after the comma as first names. A suffix such as Jr will be treated as an additional last name and a prefix such as Dr will be treated as an additional first name. I think this will work OK in most cases. For a flat list, the size of the list is known when the list menu choice is displayed. |
