Rainbow Restart from Android?
Dear All,

I'm running MinimServer on a Windows 7 PC on the ground floor of our house. The hifi system is up a flight of stairs. I use an Android control point (Bubble uPnP) and a Simaudio MiND renderer.

I add music to my library frequently and don't always remember to restart MinimServer. The failure becomes apparent when I try to access Minim upstairs, and I find that albums are missing, and tagging changes are not reflected. Is there any software (like MinimWatch) that would let me initiate a server restart from the listening room, i.e., without my having to go down and up the stairs?

The exercise is good, but those trips tend to wake my wife.

Mike

RE: Restart from Android?
Not a perfect solution, but can you use a remote control app (Remote Desktop or VNC) to control the Windows 7 PC?

In the interests of marital harmony, there will be support for this in the next release of MinimServer. Smile

You will be able to open a browser window on your Android device and access an HTML status page hosted by MinimServer. On this page, there will be a button that you can click to rescan your library.

Simon, wonderful! That will be greatly appreciated. MinimServer just keeps getting better and better.

RE: Restart from Android?
Simon thanks for this.
It will stop me having to fire up the PC again after I load music when I forget to restart MinimServer before shutting the PC down Smile
Happens more often than I'd care to admit

Peter
