Dividing an album into Suites
I have a single album (Murder of the Universe by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), which has 21 tracks.
Each group of tracks represents a Suite Each Suite has a number and a name, e.g.: Suite 1: The Tale of the Altered Beast When I browse the album I would like to have choices such as ">> Suite 1: The Tale of the Altered Beast" above each track which begins a suite, similiar to multidisc albums with a DISCSUBTITLE tag. What's the best way to achieve this, without tagging the files with DISCNUMBER and DISCSUBTITLE tags (as this is not a true multidisc album)? I also don't want to use the GROUP tag, since it forces me to navigate to the group itself, and then I'm unable to play the entire album |

Which control point app are you using? Linn Kinsky and BubbleUPnP can play a complete album that contains a mixture of groups and tracks.

You could have used tagUpdate to virtually modify your tags in order to use the discsubtitle functionality, but given that's also broken in the WiiM app (they're displayed before all the tracks) that's not going to help much: BubbleUPnP vs WiiM Home app If you can't or don't want to use an alternative, make sure to open a ticket in the WiiM app. |

RE: Dividing an album into Suites
The only other option I can think of is to create a dummy track containing 1 second of silence and tag it with a suitable title and track number to position it just before the tracks you want to group. For example, the title could be something like this:
############ My group If two tracks in an album have the same track number, MinimServer sorts them by the track title. Starting the dummy title with a # character ensures that the dummy track appears before the real track with the same track number. |
