RE: Unable to open Minimwatch after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia
When I upgraded my iMac to the latest hardware and started to use OS 15.5 I met a problem: if I shut down the iMac and restarted it later (with Minimserver running on my NAS and Minimwatch running on the iMac), I got a message along the lines "you need a full licence to run Minimserver with Minimwatch, not a starter licence". I found that exiting Minimwatch and then restarting it on the iMac picked up my full licence and cleared the problem.
Can I avoid this problem so that the full licence is picked up when I start the iMac? (apologies if this is not relevant to the previous posts.) System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS923+ (running MinimServer) > NetGear router > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model |

If this happens again, please post the complete exact text of the message that you see in MinimWatch. If you can also post a screenshot, this would be helpful.
MinimWatch doesn't do any license checking, so it appears the issue is caused by something related to MinimServer on the NAS. Seeing the full text of the message will help me suggest a solution. |

OK will do.

RE: Unable to open Minimwatch after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia
Thanks! Also, please make sure you are running MinimServer update 259 or later. There is a fix in update 259 for a problem that could cause a license to reset to starter edition in some cases.

My mistake, it looks as though Minimstreamer on the NAS is the problem. I checked the MinimServer licence page - I do have a full licence. Not sure then why exiting Minimwatch and restarting solved the problem. Note: In the second screenshot the lefthand minim is MinimServer running on the iMac and the righthand minim is Minimserver running on the NAS

RE: Unable to open Minimwatch after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia
I next exited Minimwatch and then re-run it. This screen shot shows both NAS and iMac instances of MinimServer are now running OK.

Not sure then why exiting Minimwatch and restarting solved the problem. The title bar of the message dialog in the screenshot you posted (David's iMac MinimServer) shows that MinimServer on the iMac is (or was) the problem. This message is shown when MinimStreamer is installed and your license on this device has for some reason been downgraded from full to starter. If the full license is reinstated (this can happen automatically in some cases), you will no longer see this message. The minim icon in the menu bar doesn't change colour when this message is shown. This is because the message is informational, not an error condition that prevents MinimServer from running. To check whether you are running with a full license or a starter license, select Configure from the menu bar minim icon to show the MinimServer configuration web page. The Status tab shows your active license type and whether MinimStreamer is installed. |

RE: Unable to open Minimwatch after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia
I've followed the instructions you give in the last paragraph of post #28 to re-instate my full licence on the iMac, but this was not successful. This correctly identified my full licence when I tried to purchase a new one (the only option I could find to get my licence re-instated) but after a restart of MinimServer on the iMac the original message appeared - I have starter licence.
What should I do to re-instate the full licence on the iMac? System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS923+ (running MinimServer) > NetGear router > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model |

RE: Unable to open Minimwatch after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia
The instructions in post #28 were for checkimg your license type on the iMac, not for reinstating it.
You don't need to purchase a new license. Select the License tab from the MinimServer configuration web page. This should reinstate your full license automatically. If you see a message saying this and the page has a Restart button, click Restart and all should be well. |
