Issue with Orbi router

[simoncn]

It seems that Charles7 has a similar setup with MinimServer working on a PC connected to an Orbi router with a LAN cable. The difference could be the control point app (BubbleUPnP vs Wiim Home and HiFi Cast), different models of Orbi router, different levels of Orbi firmware or different Orbi configuration settings.

As I don't have access to an Orbi router, I don't think I can do much to help narrow down which of the above might be the significant difference.

For what it might be worth in comparison, my Orbi is an RBR850 running firmware version V4.6.9.11_2.3.5 with an RBS850 satellite.

I don't know the Wiim device or its app, but as it is a wifi streamer, it may be "biased" to work over wifi versus cable. So it is worth while to download BubbleUPnP from Google Play Store and compare.

I can try the Bubble app.

However, with my previous router (before I installed the Orbi system), MinimServer worked fine with a LAN cable connection to my PC while using the Hi-Fi Cast app on my phone to control playback of my library to my renderers.

If you still have your previous router, you can swap it in and see whether it still works. If yes, an Orbi setting is the likely problem, and you can compare the two sets of settings. If no, something else changed in your LAN architecture.
