Issue with Orbi router
Hi, any advice on the below will be appreciated.

With my Orbi mesh router, Minimserver does not show up in media servers in the HiFi Cast app on my phone or in the Wiim app.

I have done some basic troubleshooting. UPNP was and is enabled on the Orbi. I also disabled the firewall on my Windows PC to no avail.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I ever tried using Minimserver since I set up the Orbi router, so this issue may have been there since day 1 with the Orbi router.

I would appreciate any advice you may have.

RE: Issue with Orbi router
Another user has solved a similar problem by changing an Orbi setting (see this post). Please let me know if changing this setting works for you.

RE: Issue with Orbi router
Thanks, I tried that (unchecked Disable IGMP Proxying), rebooted the router, and restarted Minimserver, but it did not work.

Minimserver is still not found in both the Hi-Fi Cast and Wiim apps on my Android phone.

This was with a LAN cable connected to my Windows PC (which runs Minimserver and contains my music library). I use a LAN cable for the PC, not WiFi.

However, I decided to try the PC on WiFi, and now Minimserver is showing up in the Hi-Fi Cast and Wiim apps!

I would prefer to use the LAN cable with the PC, so would still like to troubleshoot and fix the issue, so I can go back to using the LAN cable.

RE: Issue with Orbi router
Please post full details of all your networked devices and how they are connected (with and without the PC LAN cable in use).

Hi, do you mean something like the attached, but showing all devices on the network?

No, I mean a description of your network saying what is connected to what and whether these connections are wifi or Ethernet cable.

The most important information is a description of all the devices involved (switches, routers, network extenders, wireless access points. etc.) when your control point (the device running Hi-Fi Cast and Wiim Home) is communicating with your Windows PC running MinimServer and a description of how these devices are connected.

RE: Issue with Orbi router
I too have an Orbi router, and my Windows PC is connected by Ethernet cable to the router. Minimserver sends a stream via the cable to the router, which broadcasts it to the LAN. My UPnP renderer is a Denon LinkHS2, which receives the stream. I select the stream using BubbleUPnP on an Android device.

But my PC can also have a wifi connection to the LAN. You might figure out the two IP addresses for your PC, one for the Ethernet cable connection and one for the wifi connection. You can start with the LAN icon in your taskbar (see screen cap). Via this icon, you can close the wifi connection to the PC so that only the cable connection is active. (You might also get the same information from your Orbi router web page.)

Then in your browser confirm that you can go to the Web page for Minimserver. The IP for mine is: http://192.168.1.16:9790/ Yours might differ only at the .16, since we both have Orbi mesh routers.

One difference between your setup and mine is that you use Wiim or HiFi Cast. You can try BubbleUPnP if you have an Android device to narrow down where the problem is. It is a free app.

- I have an Orbi Router and 2 satellites.

- One ethernet cable from the router goes to a switch that is connected to my PC (which runs Minimserver and contains the library) via an ethernet to USB adapter. I am not using the cable now, since this set-up doesn't work with Minimserver at this time. This switch also connects via ethernet cable to other devices.

- Another ethernet cable from the router feeds another switch in my basement, where my main AV gear is located. My main renderer is a Marantz AV7704 pre/pro which is connected via ethernet cable to this second switch.

- My phone is the control point with the Wiim and Hi-Fi Cast apps. It is connected to the Orbi wifi, usually on 5 gHz.

- Currently, my PC is also on 5 gHz wifi, since using wifi allows Minimserver to be found in the Wiim and Hi-Fi Cast apps.

Hopefully this is the info you were asking for - I do appreciate your input.

RE: Issue with Orbi router
Thanks for this. If you connect the PC via cable and leave MinimServer running for a long time (30 minutes), do your control point apps see MinimServer after this time?

I tried this and the same issue persists - MinimServer is not found in the control point apps when using a cable connection to the PC.

When I go back to wifi with the PC, MinimServer appears in the control point apps.

Charles7, also thanks for your input.
