upnp and cover art
I made a request to jplay, which using minimserver, to allow for the display of front and back cover art. On the audiophile style forum, one user said than UPNP doesn’t handle more than one artwork for each album.
Is this really true? Does minimserver support the display of both front and back cover art using upnp? |

I mentioned it in a previous response to one of your earlier queries on the subject. I'm not on iOS so I don't know if Jplay supports it, but there are a couple of Android apps (BubbleUPnP and Hi-Fi Cast) that do and even a desktop app (Upplay), so I'd be surprised if it doesn't. |

RE: upnp and cover art
The UPnP specification provides a metadata property upnp:albumArtURI for sending an image URL from the server to the control point. Multiple values for this property are allowed by the UPnP specification but there is no way to identify them as front cover, back cover, etc.
MinimServer only sends a single image URL in the upnp:albumArtURI property. If a UPnP server sends multiple values for this property, it is more likely that they would be the same image at different resolutions. |
