RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
On my NAS, the 'recent' folder has owner 'admin' and read/write/execute permissions enabled for owner.

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
Tried turning off MinimServer via minim watch, then closed minim tab. Still failed to delete file.
I have the same admin(owner) rights to read/write/execute as you.
What next, do I need to uninstall and then reinstall MinimServer on my NAS?

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
You should stop and restart MinimServer from the QNAP App Center, not from MinimWatch.

I am not sure what you mean by having enable ticked in properties. You need to open Properties for the 'recent' folder (not the added-dates.txt file) and make sure the owner of this folder is set to 'admin' and read/write/execute permissions are enabled for owner (see attached screenshots).

Uninstalling and reinstalling MinimServer will not help because this does not change the contents or permission settings for the MinimServer shared folder and its subfolders.

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
OK, needed to enable permissions for group and others as well as owner.
added-dates.txt now deleted.
Rescan gets Recently Added folders back to normal.
However added-dates.txt does not now show in recent folder only added-files.txt

Thanks for your excellent help Simon

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
This is expected. When you next add new music, you should see added-dates.txt appear.

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
Hi Simon,
I've just added two new albums and the same problem occurred i.e. the last two albums added did not show up in the Recently Added Last Day folder but 32 older files did. Only Last Day, 2024 and Show All folders were present under the Recently Added Folder.
I deleted the added-dates.txt file and rescanned as hey presto everything in Recently added was as it should be ie. Last Day, Last Month, Last 3 months, 2024, 2023, Show All.

It's no problem for me to do this extra step but though you might be interested to know.

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
Thanks for letting me know about this. What you are seeing is definitely not normal and I would very much like to get to the bottom of what is causing this to happen repeatedly with your setup.

When you add new music, how exactly are you doing a MinimServer rescan to index that music? For example, do you use the Rescan button on the MinimServer configuration web page, the Rescan menu selection in MinimWatch, a Rescan option in a control point such as BubbleUPnP or the LUMIN app, or something else?

If this happens again, please immediately copy the added-dates.txt file to a safe location before you do anything else, then post here to report what happened and attach the saved added-dates.txt file to your post. Many thanks.

RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents!
Simon,
I do the MinimServer rescan from the Status tab in MinimServer on my QNAP NAS.
I have just tried deleting some albums that had incorrect metadata. I deleted the albums and rescanned and everything was as it was before the deletions in terms of Recently Added folders and contents. I then uploaded the 3 corrected albums and rescanned. This time the Added-dates.txt file was generated with the correct file information and the Recently Added folders were all Ok.

So everything seems ok. When I next add new albums I will see what happens and copy the added-dates.txt file if anything goes wrong.

As always thanks for your speedy responses.
