Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 24-04-2024 18:10 I recently updated to MinimServer 2.2 update 250. I have just added 3 CDs to my usual NAS folders and then rescanned. When I check the recently added folders (in Mimim) on my iPad - Last Day, 2024 and Show All, all show 57 new albums. These 57 albums have been added over a number of years. The three CDs I've just added aren't in the 57 albums but they are accessible from Artist, Performer Composer etc. Help, what do I need to do to get Recently Added working as it was before? RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - simoncn - 24-04-2024 19:00 It sounds like you might have accidentally deleted the MinimServer cache file. If MinimServer can't find this file, it would treat all your files as having been recently added. However, the albums wouldn't all show under "last day" but would show with the "last modified" dates of the audio files. This means that there is some other problem. Installing update 250 wouldn't cause this to happen. Have you done something else that might cause this, such as uninstalling and reinstalling MinimServer? What device are you using to run MinimServer? I suggest you don't try to experiment and fix this yourself, as you might make things worse. RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 24-04-2024 20:15 I'm not aware that I have deleted any MinimServer files. I have not uninstalled/reinstalled only undertaking the updates as they come in by clicking these. MiminServer is running on my NAS - QNAP HS-251+. The only thing different that happened today was I shut the NAS down as we had an electrician in today then restarted it when the electrical work was complete. The NAS shut down and restarted without issue. Any further help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks for your quick response this evening. RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - simoncn - 24-04-2024 21:43 An abnormal shutdown (mains power off) could cause data loss which might account for what happened. This shouldn't happen if you did a normal shutdown from QTS or the power button. It is worth looking at Control Panel > Storage and Snapshots to make sure all your volumes are OK. If any errors are shown, run Check File System. After doing this, use QTS File Station to check the following subfolders in the MinimServer shared folder: data - should contain a file Music-1.mcache or Music-2.mcache if your contentDir property is set to /share/Music (or similar name if your contentDir is something else) recent - should contain files added-dates.txt and added-files.txt Please confirm that these files are present. If added-dates.txt is present, please attach it to a post here as a file attachment. Don't copy the contents inline. RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 24-04-2024 22:30 Thanks Simon. I’ll check tomorrow and let you know what I find. RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - simoncn - 25-04-2024 07:46 I had another thought about this. Is the NAS clock set to the correct date/time? If it has been reset to a very old date, this could explain why you are seeing everything as "last day." RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 25-04-2024 09:00 forgot to add attachments! RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 25-04-2024 09:06 Seems I didn't post my reply to you! 1) Time & Date on NAS only 2 seconds different from computer, this resets every 7 days. I forced a sync now NAS & Computer are the same. 2) Check File System done on both Datavolumes on NAS - both ok and volumes in good health 3) MinimServer data folder - files you describe are present (see attached screenshot) 4) MinimServer recent folder - files you describe are present (see attached screenshot). Also added-dates.txt file attached. RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 25-04-2024 09:10 Simon, I've just noticed that the rescan button on the status tab does not respond. Just shows the last rescan time & date. "Your last rescan was at 18:12:57 on 24 Apr 2024" RE: Recently Added folders - strange contents! - RobA - 25-04-2024 09:15 Forget the last post - Rescan working again! |
