RE: album display for genre
Thank you tarnkappe.
Sorry to be daft, but if I (1) wanted to define my own specific images for the top level index (albums, items, artist, date, genre, all artists, etc etc) as Peter StreamMagic kindly demonstrated below, but also (2) have a different specification criteria for displaying which album shows when you drill down into the Genre section Presently my setup has (2) working as desired but for (1) it is mostly blanks. For further clarity, as it comes to (2), I am using "indexArtwork=none" which, since I am using a Lumin (T2), defaults to showing the first album that comes up alphabetically when searching by Genre. Perhaps I can use a different indexArtwork setting to more elegantly choose precisely what I'd like to see with 1 & 2 above alongside a designated folder for each? I ask this specifically, since using indexArtwork=folder might (?) only allow one image to be used for both? RE: album display for genre
Code: serveroptions: indexArtwork=folder IndexArtwork functionality allows you to customise the image that is displayed for each of your indexTags, as well as the values presented in the lists following an index selection. If you place a file under the indexArtwork folder e.g. 'Pop.jpg', then MinimServer will use that image for all matching instances, be they indexTags or values from an index selection. You can override this by placing another image in a subfolder of your indexArtwork that has the name of your index e.g. if you have a 'Classical' filter as a top level index, and 'Classical' also appears in your Genre index then you'll need to create a second image within a Genre folder like so: .\indexArtwork\Classical.jpg .\indexArtwork\Genre\Classical.jpg I don't believe there's a way to only apply these overrides for indexTags and have Lumin work out the rest. If you're still having problems, it might be best to include a screenshot. |

RE: album display for genre
As an illustration of how this works, if you specify indexArtwork=folder and place an image Genre.jpg in your indexArtwork folder, this image will be used only for your top-level Genre folder and not for any named genre folders (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, etc.) under this.
If by chance you happen to have an artist named Genre, the Genre.jpg image would also be used for this. |

If the artist is named Genre and the Genre.jpg image is located in a sub-folder in the indexArtwork folder, the Genre "Artist" image shows up in all artists and can be another image than the "general" Genre image. |

RE: album display for genre
I tried this and I found it only works on my Roku player using the Roku music player. It does not work with my Oppo 203 or on my Synology NAS. I added a file for my location and for the jazz example in previous post. Are there limits or is it a restriction from the hardware? I also tried it on my Plex server but no luck. Just curious what players the icon photos show up on.

RE: album display for genre
Ok, thanks for the update. I will have to reach out to Synology & Oppo and see if it's supported.

RE: album display for genre
Are you using the Synology as the server or the renderer (player)? The server device you are using to run MinimServer should make no difference if it is configured correctly.

Server; All my ripped media resides on my Synology NAS. It's long in the tooth, DS216J running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5. My player is the Oppo 203 or my Roku device. When I play it via my Roku, the 2 test files are visible.

RE: album display for genre
The problem is caused by the OPPO control app, not the Synology NAS. It seems that the OPPO app only displays images for albums, not for other index entries.
