The sorting of albums is controlled by Album.sortTags and that order applies to all album lists no matter what path you took to get there.

Some control points allow you to override the default sort order. BubbleUPnP for example lets you sort by Title, Artist, Year Asc, Year Desc, Track Number and the incoming sort order (default), so that might be an option - as long as you haven't used Album.displayFormat to display the Album name as $year - $album.

Thanks again for the clarification. I use a DCS daces application called DCS Mosaic. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be configured in it. It primarily displays what is configured in MinimServer. It may be possible to configure the sorting method for individual index elements separately in nex relases of MS.
