The notebook that I am using as a media server came with Win10 preinstalled, therefore I don't think reverting to an earlier version of Windows is an option. As a lifelong Apple Mac user, I know next to nothing about Windows, certainly not pre-Win10 versions, but Sony's reply suggests that the way DLNA and UPnP is implemented in Win 10 differs from previous versions of Windows.

If this is the case, I am surprised that it does not seem to affect any other control points or renderers.

I understand that using Windows 7 or 8 is not an option for you. Perhaps another user with a Sony Music Centre will be able to try this.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
A further observation.
I have two media servers on my Asus E200HA notebook with Win10 Pro 10.0.18362 installed, but I don't run them simultaneously.
When Minimserver 0.8.5.2 (which I use for music streaming) is running, the Sony Music Center app on my iPhone does NOT see it. So streaming music directly to the Sony speaker is not possible.
When UMS (Universal Media Server) 8.2.0 (used for serving images) is running, Music Center DOES see it and can access all image folders (but images are not displayed of course since the renderer is a Sony wireless speaker).

This makes me wonder whether there is a specific incompatibility between Minimserver and the Music Center app, rather than an incompatibility more generally between Win10 and Music Center. As reported above, the latter was suggested by Sony tech support.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Hi,

I also have the same problem. Sony Music Center (Android app) can't see MinimServer only, but can see all other dlna server (foobar2000, KODI, Asset UPnP, WMP on Windows 10, and BubbleUPnP upnp server on Android 11). Except Sony Music Center app, all other dlna browsers can see MinimServer.

MinimServer 2.0.12 update 193

Thanks in advance.

I tried installing this app but it doesn't see any UPnP servers (MinimServer or others). Does it require me to connect to a Sony device before it will connect to a UPnP server? (I don't have any Sony devices.)

Yes, it requires to connect to a Sony device at first. If anything I can try, just tell me. I use Sony SRS-HG1 which supports DSD and FLAC directly. Thanks.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Did not want to open a new thread but have same issue with the Sony STR-AN1000 AV Receiver just purchased. Minim Server is running on a QNAP TS-453D. I was able to use software fine with an older Denon Unit. Using the Sony Music Center App as well to view. I do see the QNAP DNLA server and able play music but much prefer the Minim Server capabilities with the Minim Streamer. Huge letdown and may not keep the receiver.

I'm afraid I know nothing about the Sony Music Center App, but have you tried proxying MinimServer with BubbleUPnP Server?
BubbleUPnP Server - amongst other things - can be used to add a compatibility layer to both UPnP renderers and servers to help problem devices work together.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
I found this thread describing a similar problem with Sony Music Center not finding the Serviio DLNA media server.

The problem occurred with the Sony Music Center Android app but not with the Sony Music Center iPad app. Which Sony Music Center app are you using?
