RE: Melco N1/2 v3.92B Beta Firmware and MinimServer 2
Thanks, Simon. I started the 30-day trial of the full version of MinimServer 2. Is there a trial version of MinimStreamer 2? Currently, I do not see how to transcode in MinimWatch 2. Thanks.

After activating the free trial, you can use MinimWatch 2 to install MinimStreamer 2, just like you did on MinimServer 0.8.

RE: Melco N1/2 v3.92B Beta Firmware and MinimServer 2
Hi Simon. Okay, I installed MinimStreamer 2. I am now running:
MinimServer v2.0.5, update 152 MinimWatch v2.0.4, update 80 MinimStreamer v2.0.2 I believe these are the most current versions at the moment. One question about FFmpeg static builds: With MinimServer 0.8, I could download the latest FFmpeg static build from https://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ and install it in the MinimServer "opt/bin" directory. Since installing MinimServer 2, I no longer see the "opt/bin" directory. Is this to be expected, and is there some way to install FFmpeg static builds in MinimServer 2? Thanks very much. You should install the ffmpeg-4.1-melco-2.0 package from the MinimWatch packages tab.

Hi Simon, thanks, I did that first off. Still no sign of the "opt/bin" directory. Not a big deal, just thought I would ask.

RE: Melco N1/2 v3.92B Beta Firmware and MinimServer 2
opt/bin has been removed from the Melco version of MinimServer 2. This is because there are issues running standard FFmpeg builds on the Melco with convolution filtering enabled. The FFmpeg package provided for the Melco is built using special options to solve this problem.

RE: Melco N1/2 v3.92B Beta Firmware and MinimServer 2
Okay, good to know, thanks. I tried transcoding with MinimStreamer 2 and it worked well and sounded great using this 'stream.transcode' combination string:
flac(16;44):wav24;352, flac(24;44):wav24;352, flac(16;48):wav24;384, flac(24;48):wav24;384, flac(24;88):wav24;352, flac(24;96):wav24;384, flac(24;176):wav24;352, flac(24;192):wav24;384 Melco HA-N1ZH60 Mk1 (MinimServer 2.2) → USB → Luxman D-07X Black Edition Centennial SACD Player/DAC → XLR → Mark Levinson No. 523 → RCA → JL Audio E-Sub e110 (active crossover @ 100 Hz) → RCA → Bryston 4B3 (Cubed) → Magnepan .7 |
