You say you need a lot of help to use Minimserver.
Well, it does work both ways! We will need more help/information from you in order to advise what to do.

For instance, what pc did you attempt to install Minimwatch?
Are you following these Installation links?

If yes, at which point is it failing?

Assuming you are using a Windows pc then you should be downloading MinimWatch-0.8.5.3-install.exe from this page.
Is this the page that you are downloading from that results in the issue described above?

RE: Doing Rescan's ???
You can do a rescan without having MinimWatch installed.

In Synology DSM, go to the Package Center (where you installed MinimServer). Find the MinimServer icon and click the Open button. This shows a web page named MinimServer Status. This web page has a Rescan button. Click this Rescan button.

Ok, this might be also a possibility to do a rescan, but I think it is better to have MinimWatch installed, it offers far more than just a rescan facility!

I heartily concur, but I am sure that, in this instance, Simon is providing a simpler method. After all TopHatJohnny1 only requires the rescan after upsampling some albums.

Of course, an even simpler method, dare I say it, is to use the Lightning server within the Lightning DS app. No need for NAS or Pc software installation. It’s all there on the IPad and if I recall it detects changes automatically.

You are right, the first and most important goal, is to help TopHatJonny1 with this rescan issue.

I still own the StreamMagic 6 V1 , it’s “banned “ to my workroom upstairs
By the way it was Simons gesture to use the Synology path.
