Can't play track with 0.7 version ?
Hi Simon,
I have installed the 0.7 version, but I don’t manage to play music anymore.
My configuration is the following :
- NAS QNAP 219PII
- PS audio DAC II with the bridge
- Iphone and ipad with eLyric Player
- I use Aiff music format
With the earlier version (0.63) it works very well, except the problem with specific characters.
But with the 0.7, I can navigate in all my music library, I can select one album or track but when I want to play a track, the duration reported on elyric player on my Iphone is 35791… then after few minutes the true duration appears but I still can’t play the track?
Have you an idea of this new problem which seems to have appeared with the installation of 0.7 version.
I have reported below the log information given by MiniWatch when I try to play a track via eLyric player on ipad
NB: I have make all the reboots (Nas, DAc...)
NB: When I use Twonky server, it works well...
Best regards,
Eric

The status given by MiniWhatch is green. Here is the showing log when I try to play a song :

.......

This log looks very strange. The requests are for folder.jpg files, but the headers on the requests look like the client is requesting a track to play. MinimServer isn't sending the expected responses, and the sequence of trace messages in the log doesn't seem to match what I see in the MinimServer code.

Please can you narrow this down to a minimum scenario to create the failure, then save the complete MinimWatch log (not a short extract). You would need to do something like:

1) Reboot everything
2) Start MinimServer and let the startup complete fully
3) From the MinimWatch log window, set the log level to Trace
4) Using eLyric on the iPad, navigate to a track using the minimum number of browsing steps and try to play the track
5) From the MinimWatch log window, save the log file
6) From the MinimWatch log window, set the log level to back to Info
7) Zip the saved log file and attach it to a post here

Many thanks!

Thanks very much for doing this. From this log, I understand what's happening. There's a change in 0.70 to send album art as a resource in the XML data if the control point specifies "res@resolution" in the Browse request Filter string. This seems to confuse eLyric, which misinterprets the album art resource as the music file and tries to play it. Sad

This would also explain the incorrect duration that you saw. It's probably the length of the album art image.

For now, I'll disable the code that sends this additional album art resource. This shouldn't cause any problems for other control points. This change will be in the upcoming 0.71 release.

Great, if you have identified the problem with this log.
I'll wait for the 0.71 version to try it.
In fact, today, I have not found alternative to eLyrics to drive my music library (NAS) via my iPad...
Thank you very much.

So it sounds like I should wait for .71, since eLyric is my preferred player — yes? And I was looking forward to trying .70 this weekend . . .

The Linn Kinsky control point works well enough with my NAS and PSA DAC/bridge, although for various reasons I prefer eLyric.

The problem affects only AIFF and MP3 files. If you have these, you should wait for 0.71 or use Kinsky.
