Hi,
It has been a while and I have been using 0.63 to good effect on ARM Qnap TS209 but I now want to install minimserver on TS 559. I went to the installation instructions and fell at first fence as I cannot find the recommended Qnap JRE x86 QPKG file. Perhaps Qnap have moved it but please could somebody point me in the right direction.

It looks like QNAP have removed the x86 JRE QPKG. I can't find a download link for it anywhere.

I suggest you follow the instructions for the ARM QNAP models, but download the x86 version of the embedded JRE from the Oracle web site instead of the ARM version.

Hi Simon,
I have been trying to do just as you suggest but cannot get Oracle to send me an email. Their site says one has been sent but nothing appears. Will keep trying but if you have any ideas please let me know.

When I go into my QNAP 459 Pro+ Admin -> Applications -> QPKG Center I have 3 main tabs - Installed, Available and Install Manually.
Under Installed I have JRE 6.0.22 QNAP Systems, Inc. as I have it installed already.
It can also be found when I go the the Available tab.
Under Available there are 3 sub tabs - QNAP Select, Recommended QPKG and More.
When I look under More, the JRE is there.
Is this the same Admin set up that you have??

When other people have had this problem, they have found that it helps to resubmit the request using a different email address.

Peter's suggestion is a simpler solution if it works on your NAS.

Hi Simon, yes I have found the QPKG JRE following Peter's suggestion. I was looking in Install Manually duh! I have tried a couple of email addresses with Oracle but still no luck. Will try re-registering with another address.

Finally sorted out my Oracle registration and now have JRE 7 and minimserver 0.63 up and running on TS 559 Pro II.
Interesting that under the QPKG centre Installed tab, JRE shows with text "JRE
7
Ad'Novea, QNAPAndy - Updated by Cristian" by logo but annotation alongside is "Java Runtime Environment 6 which enables to run the compiled Java programs on the NAS (supports only x86-based NAS). "

I downloaded JRE 7 but where does the note come from I wonder?
Anyhow assume all is well unless I report otherwise. Will check & set functions etc with minimwatch tomorrow.
