Latest additions to library
Hello

Is it possible to integrate an option on the entry page of the server (there where you can select albums/artists/playlists and so on) where I can see the latest additions to my library? In Squeezecenter this one used to be "New Music" and I used it when I added a couple of new albums.

Thank you
Sokrates

This feature has been requested by other users and I am hoping to add support for it in a future version of MinimServer.

My $0.02 on this feature request?

If you are going to do this, please consider the following:

1. Make it a top-level container, so that I can browse albums, artists, et al.

2. Allow a specified date-range for what's new, based on date albums are added to the repository.

This second one is important; I have two other "systems" that attempt to auto-generate a "Newly Added" collection and they only seem to include the last group of files added to the repository, which makes the feature of little value, IMO.

An alternative that might be easier to implement, because you don't need to track import time/date: a top-level container of all albums, sorted by create date/time for the files, which will roughly match when they were downloaded or ripped from CD. Maybe group by month (for the last N months, then by year after that) and then sorted by artist within the month or year.

I buy a lot of music and I manually create playlists that reflect some of the above, so I can keep track of what I've recently purchased and haven't listen to, yet.

I have no doubt Simon will come up with a simpler solution, but in the meantime, if you don't mind doing a little tagging, you can add some sort of date indicator to a field you aren't using and then add this to your indexing. I use the Comment field and add the year and month I acquire the album, e.g. "2016-03", then rename the comment field as "Recently Added". I can then select the year and month to see what albums I added in that month. There are of course other ways of approaching this.

On the Lumin App, this also exists.

It is the little icon on the deck above the content, which is in-between the "Date" view (as date of recording) and the "Folder" view
