wav16 to wav24
I am sorry if it is something very basic, but I don't know how to do it.
My files on my Synology NAS are all wav16.
How I can do that they become wav24

I am curious why you want this?

This isn't possible with MinimStreamer. You would need to do an offline conversion to wav24 using a converter program such as dBpoweramp. Alternatively, you could do an offline conversion to FLAC and then use MinimStreamer to transcode FLAC to wav24.

When the music is a little bright, I like to set my Lumin, to convert the files to 24 bit. He simply wanted that job did the Synology processor, and not the processor of the Lumin.

RE: wav16 to wav24
Is there any sense in transcoding flac to wav24 when "the audio samples are extended to 24 bits by padding each sample with zeros"? Does it give anything to streamers Linn DS?
And what is better for SQ: flac:wav24 or flac:wav24; with ffmpeg?
Some time ago transcoding flac:wav24 or flac:wav24; stopped to work at my NAS with Win XP, i.e. 16 bit instead of 24 bit. Version of MinimServer is 0.8.3. Version of MinimStreamer is 0.6.1. Is it normal and means that I should upgrade MinimServer to version 0.8.4 that this option worked?

RE: wav16 to wav24
You should upgrade MinimServer to 0.8.4 because 0.8.3 is no longer supported.

There should be no SQ difference between flac:wav24 and flac:wav24;

I have found that wav24 sounds better than wav16 on a Linn KDS/1 even though the extra bits are padded with zeros. You can compare these for yourself and see what you think.

Is it usual procedure for converting 16 bits to 24 or more bits? Linn DS does as well?

RE: wav16 to wav24
I don't know what code is inside the Linn DS but I would expect any conversion from 16 to 24 bits to pad the low-order bits with zeros.
