all.ignore.sort
I use the above so that "The" is ignored when sorting on albums or artist. I have recently noticed though, that when browsing albums sorted by artist first, this doesn't seem to be working.

This appears to be the same with minim on an ubuntu server and a qnap ts212.

Is this an error or just how minim works, if it the latter is there a workaround?

Can you describe in more detail what is working as you expect and what is not working as you expect? If you can attach some screenshots to a post, this would help.

Which control point are you using to browse your library? Have you tried using any other control points to see if you get the same results?

RE: all.ignore.sort
Okay, I have attached some screenshots which hopefully show what I mean.

I use Minim both at home and in work. At home I have it installed on Ubuntu server 14.04 and at work on a QNAP TS212, both installations are showing as up to date. I have attached screenshots for the properties of both servers.

They both have Album.sortTags={Artist, Album}, all.ignore.sort={The} as the tagOptions.

When viewing the library in Artist view, this works as I would expect and The Beatles are under B. However when viewing the library in Album view, there is a whole section of artists beginning with the.

This is true using a variety of control points, Bubble DS, Bubble UPnP, Bubble DS Next, Linn Kinsky, Naim app et cetera.

Thanks for posting this information. I have similar settings but I am not seeing this problem.

What value do you have for the tagFormat property on the Advanced tab?

Tagformat: Artist.displayFormat={$artist$orchestra$conductor}

This is the same as my setting.

There must be something different between my setup and yours that is causing this incorrect sorting of the album list. I've checked everything I can think of but I haven't found it yet.

Are you using the latest version of MinimServer (0.8.3 update 75)?

Does this problem with the albums list occur for all artists that start with 'The' or only some of them?

For albums that have this problem, is the artist tagged with the Artist tag, the AlbumArtist tag, or both of these?

RE: all.ignore.sort
It's not all artists. In fact there are artists where some albums are sorted correctly and others not. I'll investigate the artist and albumartist tags and see what the differences are.

RE: all.ignore.sort
It seems that if there is no albumartist or album artist tag then it gets sorted incorrectly.

Thanks very much! I have used this information to reproduce the problem here. I will investigate further and let you know what I find.

RE: all.ignore.sort
Hi Simon,

I've just seen that there has been some updates and the issue has been resolved. You've saved me an awful lot of re-tagging, thanks very much.

Mike
