Recently added albums stored at top of sorted album list

I've been a very satisfied user of MinimServer for a couple of years. In conjunction with the BubbleUPnP controller it has met all my needs. My library continues to grow and now has ~82k tracks. The library is held in iTunes format on a Synology DS412+ NAS.

I've just noticed that some of the albums I've recently added or edited metadata via iTunes appear at the beginning of the album listing displayed by BubbleUPnP rather than in their correct places. The albums appear in the correct places in iTunes. Initially I thought the problem lay with BubbleUPnP so I deleted the app and re-installed it but the problem remained.
I therefore uninstalled the MinimServer app on the NAS and reinstalled it. The problem remained.

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem.

The first step is to confirm whether it is MinimServer or BubbleUPnP that is causing the incorrect sort order. The simplest way to do this is to try another control point such as Linn Kinsky and see what sort order this is showing.

Good point Simon.
I tried the Audionet app on an iPad. Same result as with BubbleUPnP. In both cases I looked at the list of all albums, and the identical set of additional albums appeared before the correct alphabetical list each time.

OK, this suggests an issue with MinimServer. I'm surprised by this because I haven't had any reports of this problem previously.

Some questions:

When you see the problem, are you looking at the albums in the # albums list on the top-level menu or in some other place?

What is your complete setting for the tagOptions property?

Synology NAS MinimServer > 15042 albums

Your setting for Album.sortTags has AlbumSort first and Album second. This will sort all albums that have an AlbumSort tag before all albums that don't have an AlbumSort tag. I presume you have recently started adding AlbumSort tags to your albums and this is why the recent albums are appearing first.

The simplest way to solve the problem is to change your settings to the following:

tagOptions: Album.sortTags={Album, Artist}
tagValue: Album.value.sort={AlbumSort}

This will use the AlbumSort tag as the sort value of the Album tag for albums that have an AlbumSort tag. For albums that don't have an AlbumSort tag, the sort value of the Album tag will be the same as the value of the Album tag.

OK tried this but got the MinimServer error:
Synology NAS MinimServer: incorrect tag 'Album' for option 'value.sort' in property 'tagValue'

You also need to add Album to itemTags. This is currently required for tags that have a 'value' option in tagValue, except for the Title tag which is treated specially. I am investigating whether it might be possible to make a similar exception for the Album tag in a future update.
