Problem starting MinimServer
Hello,
I'm trying to install MinimServer on my DS214+ . What I have done so far. I have installed java as from "http://pcloadletter.co.uk/". I guess it woks fine. On ssh java -version gives: java version "1.8.0_65" Java SE Embedded Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_65-b17, headless) Java HotSpot Embedded Client VM (build 25.65-b01, mixed mode). To check Java runs OK I installed BubbleUpnpServer that uses also java and it works well. Now I installed serveral times, and after each installation I restarted my DS, from Web GUI and manually per spk. The Web GUI shows MinimServer green up and running. The Log gives after start: MinimServer 0.8.3 update 50, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. Java SE Embedded Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_65-b17) Java HotSpot Embedded Client VM (build 25.65-b01, mixed mode) Platform default charset is UTF-8. And after stopping the Service: MinimServer 0.8.3 update 50, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. Java SE Embedded Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_65-b17) Java HotSpot Embedded Client VM (build 25.65-b01, mixed mode) Platform default charset is UTF-8 ending MinimServer. For testing purpose there are no firewalls aktive on DS or Client Computer. MinimWatch on Client is greyed out. On http://192.*:9790 is nothing to reach. From here I don't know what to do next to solve the problem. Any Ideas? Thanks. |

RE: Problem starting MinimServer
If you have multiple network adapters (real or virtual) on the computer running MinimWatch, it might be that MinimWatch is choosing the wrong adapter for listening. You can use Options > Show log (watch) in MinimWatch to see which subnet MinimWatch is using for listening. Does this subnet look correct?
I don't know why you are not able to reach the MinimServer status web page on port 9790 on the DS214+. Is the DS214+ (and your network) set up as IPv6 only? At present, MinimServer requires IPv4 addessing to be used to access the status web page. |

RE: Problem starting MinimServer
Hallo Simon,
thanks for your quick response. My configuration on my network is dualstack. What you described could be possible, but as I wrote the Problem is already gone. Minimwatch is on the correct subnet now, the log shows no errors and streaming works flawlessly. Nice work. But another question occured. In my kitchen I use a Denon Heos 7 and as a conrolpoint a Android tablet with BubleUPnP. I use MinimStreamer for streaming radio. And it works all well. But if I try to use the Heos App from Denon to switch between the radio streams or start one I always get a timeout error. The config looks something like this: #EXTINF:-1,[*NDR2;mp3] NDR2 - Region Meckelenburg-Vorpommern http://www.ndr.de/resources/metadaten/au...dr2_mv.m3u and so on. I tried also #EXTINF:-1,[*NDR2;mp3,41000,2] NDR2 - Region Meckelenburg-Vorpommern http://www.ndr.de/resources/metadaten/au...dr2_mv.m3u but so far no luck. The Properties in MinimWatch are all on standart. As I described above with BubbleUPnP it works nice. Is there something I could try to fix this on the MinimStreamer or MinimServer side other then transcode the whole stream? |

RE: Problem starting MinimServer
Hi,
at my previous post, I have forgotten to mention, that on MinimWatch loglevel trace there is nothing if I try to start or switch radio streams in the Denon Heos App. The stream names are displayed correctly in the App so. |

RE: Problem starting MinimServer
Thanks for the answer. The Denon support points out that MinimServer is UPnP and their System DLNA and that are 2 pairs of shoes.
So once more thanks for your help. |

MinimServer supports most features of DLNA and works with a wide variety of DLNA players including some from Denon. However, MinimServer doesn't have formal DLNA certification and therefore cannot be described as a DLNA server in the documentation. I will post back later with some suggestions for debugging the problem you are having. |

In the Denon Heos app, have you configured a custom radio station URL as described on this page (steps 8 and 9) or are you using a UPnP library browser to select the stream as described on this page (steps 8 and 9)? |

RE: Problem starting MinimServer
Hallo Simon,
I have taken the UPnP library browser approach, I guess. The config on my nas looks like this: - contentDir: /volume1/media/music - now there are 3 more subdirectorys: flac, playlist, radio - in the last directory lies my radio.m3u file. It looks like described in my fourth posting. Hope this descibes it properly. Let me know if you need more infos or logs. Thanks a lot for your time and help. |
