It depends on how many unexpected problems I run into when doing this and also on what else is happening, so I can't give any time estimate. I will PM you to let you know when it's available.

This is probably a stupid question Simon and I know that you have already tried to explain this to me but ...

I am still having fun trying to import from my external hard drives. I now have four. If I import each drive using it's drive letter only, e.g.:

N:/
P:/
V:/
J:/

...then everything is fine. On each of my hard drives I have two directories, namely PCM and DSD. As MinimServer is not yet functional with DSD files, I wish to exclude them from the import. If I enter:

N:/PCM
P:/PCM
V:/PCM
J:/PCM

... then I get problems with drives being highlighted in red and a message asking me to correct. In a previous post you mentioned that MinimServer does not support duplicate names for directories at top level. Perhaps this is why I am having problems. BTW ... Each PCM directory contains two subdirectories, namely 16-Bit and HiRes.

Sorry to keep asking these questions. As previously mentioned, my technical knowledge is limited!

How are you getting on with the update to support DSD conversion? I'm really looking forward to that being available!

The problem is that all these top-level directories have the same name PCM. You need to rename them to make them different, for example:

N:/PCM-N
P:/PCM-P
V:/PCM-V
J:/PCM-J

I'm making fairly good progress, but don't get too excited yet. I'm not sure that the DSD-to-PCM conversion code in ffmpeg will produce the same sound quality results as doing DSD-to-PCM conversion using foobar2000. When I have it working properly, I'll compare these.

I've just reinstalled MinimServer. I thought I would use it for PCM files. Having waited ages for my files to be imported (I get lots of messages about tagging errors) I rebooted and started MinimServer and the whole import process starts again. Is this because I have to correct the tagging errors as previously explained? I have literally thousands of albums and that process would take ages! Is there a way around it?

If your files are on network-attached drives rather than internal or USB-attached drives, the initial scan takes a very long time and subsequent rescans will also be slow.

Messages about tagging problems are usually warnings rather than errors. (The message will say which it is.) A warning doesn't exclude the file from being available in your MinimServer library. You need to let the initial scan complete and then check to see which files are visible in your MinimServer library.

This is available now in MinimStreamer 0.5.5 and MinimServer update 60 (you need both). I think it sounds OK. You need ffmpeg 2.3 or later as your converter and you will probably need to set the output stream bit depth and sample rate to be able to play the PCM stream on your Naim streamer (the default is 32/352800).

If I download the latest MinimServer I presume that's OK ... The website says that Update 62 has been released. I found something about MinimStreamer 0.5.8 being released. I presume that's OK. Is Minimstreamer a separate download or is it bundled with MinimServer? Could you possibly give me a link to instructions to enable MinimStreamer.

Sorry to be a pain but could you please enlighten me how to set the output stream bit depth and sample rate. My Naim DAC will not go to 32/352800. When I used JRiver Media Center I set the DSD conversion output to 24/176.
