Java Is Corrupt?
I couldn't figure out why everything stopped working. I then saw this as I started to check everything.
I did an uninstall and reinstall of Java plus the file that has to be downloaded and installed and it seems to work now. |

It will be useful if other users have a similar problem. I haven't seen this myself and I'm not sure how Java could become corrupted. Did you install a DSM update recently? |

No, the last DSM was a while ago. This was just totally out of the blue. I uploaded 4 new Cd's (XLD) and did a rescan. However, after the rescan DS Lightning (AURALiC) didn't show the new albums but I could see them in the 1813+ Music Folder where I mapped XLD to put them. I could also see them on my DX513 local backup so I knew they were there. The first thing I did was restart the Synology 1813+ since restarting is the universal computer fix. After that didn't work I tried to open Minimserver from the DSM control panel. It wouldn't work. I then went to installed packages and saw that Minimserver was stopped and I couldn't restart it due to corrupt Java Install. I uninstalled Java and did a reinstall including that file that you download and manual install and it now works fine.

I seem to recall a similar problem when a user updated from DSM 4.3 to 5.0 and ignored the warnings from DSM that Java should be reinstalled. Everything was OK for a while and then something like this happened. |

RE: Java Is Corrupt?
Very similar problem here.
When I restarted my Synology NAS after a holiday last week I had the same message. Solved the problem by un-installing Java and re-installing. All seems fine now. (Maybe relevant - I did an update to the Synology DSM a couple of weeks before I our holiday and the shutdown.) System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS923+ (running MinimServer) > NetGear router > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model |
