Post update MinimServer 0.8.2 update 42 issues [temporary]

Hi Simon,

I noticed after the update that MinimWatch could not find the MinimServer on my linux pc [headless]. A reboot of the MinimWatch PC did not resolve the issue.

I performed a stopall followed by a startd as well as a setup to make startd was set at startup. I also noticed sometimes the artists could not be browsed.

After a reboot of the linux pc the issue seems to have sorted itself.

Sound like anything you have seen before?

It is possible that MinimServer failed to relaunch after the update. In this case it would have written "minimserver-heapdump" and "minimserver-threads" files to the minimserver/data directory. Do you see these files?

If this is what happened, a stopall would have produced a message saying there were no running MinimServer processes and a startd would have resolved the problem.

Can you say in more detail exactly what happened when the artists could not be browsed? Could you browse somethng else when this was happening?

The first time I tried to attach the log (uncompressed) it errored out. Maybe it created the first copy of the thread then?.

In Kazoo the artists were not present. Other searches also failed to show album, etc.

I will check the directory a little later and report back.

I updated the start of the thread with two error logs. I did not see the dump or threads files.

I have deleted the duplicate thread.

The hs_err files show that MinimServer crashed twice in native code (ohNet). I will look at this and post back here when I have more information. Thanks for reporting this problem.

Both files show the same error when ohNet is attempting to read a string sent by the control point for a UPnP Search request. The stack trace is incomplete and the failure is somewhere in libc, which isn't very helpful. I haven't seen anything like this before, and I can't do much more unless you can come up with a repeatable scenario that causes this problem. Please let me know if you are able to do this.
