Server path and installing question

Hi,

Just a short question; why do I have to manually print the path to my library in Minimserverver?

Also; right now my iMac start up without Minimserver doing the same. I have to manually search in Finder for a .dmg file and double click, then it works fine. Should I do something else to really "install" the program?

If you install MinimServer on a Mac, you get a File Chooser dialog for selecting the library folder the first time you start MinimServer. After you have done this, the library path is remembered automatically.

If you want to change the library path without doing any typing, you can delete the contentDir value and restart MinimServer. You'll get a File Chooser dialog for selecting the new library folder. After you have done this, the new library path is remembered automatically.

If you want to set two or more library folders, you need to type the path for the additional contentDir entry. I'm investigating how I can support dragging a folder from Finder to the contentDir field to prevent the need for this.

The .dmg file is used only for initial installation. As it says in step 2 of this section, you should drag the MinimServer application from the .dmg file to the Applications folder and start it from the Applications folder.

If you want MinimServer to start automatically when you start the Mac, you can use System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items to set this up in the same way as you would for any other Mac application.
