OK, here're the logs with just one file that's incorrectly being shown. And also the current config is use in general. RE: Question about the licence model and browsing through music
All of that looks fine.
In foobar's Converter you're able to specify to only output the first 10 seconds of each song (under the 'Other settings' in the Converter Setup), I'm wondering whether it would be worth converting a couple of albums (one including the "problem" file) then pointing MinimServer to just that location to see what happens. If this "fixes" it then it's something to do with the files, if not, then maybe you could upload the shortened versions somewhere so we can try it ourselves? |

RE: Question about the licence model and browsing through music
I have searched for other peculiarities in the problematic audio files and compared them with the files that are displayed correctly:
All files that are displayed correctly have an album name and a track number in the tags. All files that are displayed incorrectly are missing these two elements. Unfortunately, I had not noticed this before because I had to realise that I had made a small mistake in the test setup. So I gave one file a dummy album tag and a dummy track number as a test. And lo and behold: The track is no longer displayed incorrectly under "Artists"! How can I get around this without having to create a dummy album or a dummy track number for each track? |

RE: Question about the licence model and browsing through music
I hadn't considered missing albums and track numbers.
Like with any tags you can apply a default by using the option: Code: tagValue: Album.default={'Missing Album'}, TrackNumber.default={'01'}Whether there's a way for it to work "normally" without these though I don't know. I suppose if it's not an Album, then it can't have an AlbumArtist, maybe. |

RE: Question about the licence model and browsing through music
Yes, that was it!!
Now it looks perfect to me! And I'm really starting to love the software ![]() Edit: Not completely perfect yet. I now want to remove the indexTag Podcasts from the top level so that it only appears under "Audio Type Filter". And then I want to define more audio types: Radio Play, Children's Songs and Christmas. These should then also not appear under "Artist" and "Audio Type Filter" -> "Music". What other adjustments are necessary for this? |

You'd just need to add them to tagUpdate.txt I've added the Radio Play one here for you: Code: @GENRE=PodcastIt's basically saying # If the GENRE tag is 'Radio Play' @GENRE=Radio Play # Add the tag AUDIOTYPE and give it a value of 'Radio Play' +AUDIOTYPE=Radio Play |

RE: Question about the licence model and browsing through music
I had already done that.
And it also works. However, the artists are still displayed under "Artist" and "Audio Type Filter" -> "Music". With audio files tagged with COMPILATION=1, it now works that they are not displayed there. And this is how it should be for these categories as well. |

(08-07-2022 17:42)Music-Guy Wrote: I had already done that. They shouldn't be. What we're essentially doing is populating a tag called AUDIOTYPE with some values (via tagUpdate.txt) before anything else is processed. After this we're populating all the remaining files with 'Music' using the setting: Code: AudioType.default={'Music'}Did you do a restart and rescan? |
