In DSM Package Center, select the MinimServer icon and then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu. The procedure for uninstalling Java is similar.

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
I upgraded to DSM 7 today, and followed the instructions to download and install the latest version of Minimserver in order to not lose my settings. Installation failed because I had let my license lapse. No problem, I went and renewed my license. However, I think I'm stuck now. In order to run Minimserver, I need to upgrade it, but I can't upgrade it until the old version recognizes my renewed license, which can only happen if I run it.

I'm sure you've answered this either in the instructions or on the forum, but I can't find it.

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
Please provide more details about your current situation.

1) What model of Synology NAS do you have?
2) Is DSM 7 installed and running?
3) Is MinimServer installed? If so, what version? If you try to start it, does it start or produce an error? If it produces an error, what is the error message?
4) If you try to install MinimServer 2.2 from the Package Center, what error message do you see?

Can do--thank you.
1) DS118
2) Yes, the OS upgrade to DSM 7 went just fine.
3) Yes, MinimServer 2.1.2-1102 is installed. But since I upgraded to DSM 7, MinimServer is not running (which isn't a surprise) and the Synology says "Repair Required." I haven't tried to let the Synology repair it. Would that get it into a state where it recognizes the license extension?
4) The error message I get is, "Failed to update 'MinimServer'. Your updates entitlement for your MinimServer full license expired on 2022-02-10. To install MinimServer 2.2, you need to purchase an updates extension license." Which I did, but I can't find any way to get Minimserver to recognize that I extended the license.

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
Thanks for this information. You should be able to solve the problem by installing MinimServer from the Synology Package Center. At present, this will install MinimServer 2.1.2-2102 and this version should not be blocked by the updates expiry date check. When you have installed and started this version, your new expiry date will be activated and you will be able to install MinimServer 2.2.

I will look into how this situation can be handled in a more satisfactory way. My apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Thank you, Simon. Quick question--Package Center only gives the options to Repair and Uninstall. It does show that 2.1.2-2102 is the newest version, but doesn't have an obvious way to install it over 2.1.2.1102. Would "repair" be functionally the same? Very motivated not to lose my settings.

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
According to this page, Repair installs the latest version of the package. I am almost certain that it doesn't uninstall the current package first.

If you want make sure that the currently installed package is updated without being uninstalled, you could download MinimServer 2.1.2-2102 from this page and do a manual install of the download.

Awesome, thank you. I did a manual install of 2.1.2 and then it let me manually install 2.2. All appears to be well. Appreciate the assist.
