Yup Simon that is exactly the conclusion I eventually made.
FooBar (Upnp Browser) as a test environment for MinimServer (or any Upnp server) is absolutely brilliant because it is quick and the layout in Upnp browser is so simple. Before this I was doing the testing running the Naim N-Stream on my iPad, which is less than ideal when you are testing. The N-Stream I think, buffers data, so you can do a refresh on Minim and it doesn't show for a while on N-Stream - which is extremely annoying. If Foobar doesn't show what you expected it's because you did it wrong - simple as. Unfortunately FooBar as a server is a no-go for me because my NAS (QNAP) runs Linux. I do actually run FooBar to serve files on my main Windows Box and it just looks at the stuff I have downloaded from archive.org. btw visit this site if you don't know about it. Thanks for the tip DavidHB, I will check that out. I am dead-scared of hitting the up-arrow instead of of left or right because it just loses your edits. Thanks for that. |
