"If you want to see the album contents displayed as separate discs, you need to use additional tags. The simplest way to do this is to tag the album tracks with the album title suffixed by a disc identifier in the form [disc <n>], (disc <n>) or , disc <n>, where <n> is the disc number." Which to my eyes is what I've done. Cheers, Bob. |

RE: Can't get showAllDiscs=true to work
There is no problem with your album tags. Also, Kazoo and the Linn app don't need library data to be reloaded after a rescan.
From your latest screenshot, I see why this isn't working. You are not viewing the complete Celebration2 album, only a partial list of tracks from the album. To see the multidisc view, you need to be viewing the complete album. The simplest way to do this is to select the "n albums" index and then select Celebration2 from the list of album titles. |

Thank you for that. However, that probably saves me a pack of work because I've never, ever used the albums list before and I doubt I ever will again. There is only the artist or folder view ever used here. Be it classical or pop it's artist that's key not album title which I often can't remeber. That's a bit disappointing to be honest, any chance it can be added to artist? Thanks again. Bob. |

RE: Can't get showAllDiscs=true to work
There would be no problem if all tracks of the album have the same artist. In this case, you would select Artist > the artist name > n albums > your chosen album. If you are doing this and getting the screenshot you posted, there must be at least one track of the album Celebration2 that doesn't have Madonna as a tagged artist.
What are the exact browsing steps you are using to end up with the screenshot you posted? |

All Artists => "M" => Madonna => 14 albums => Celebration2 Just looked at the tags again. There is just one track that contains a different artist. It contains "Madonna lil Wayne" it is visible in the image I posted earlier from Tag&Rename. Last track on disc 1 - Revolver. So in that search I've asked for Madonna and there is a track with Madonna and someone else so that track gets rejected AND at the top of the page it says ">> Complete Album" which it isn't! In all these years I've never noticed that happen before. I really dislike that not revealing the whole album can I change that in configuration? If not I'll go back to using Folder view and only Folder view. Thanks. Bob. |

RE: Can't get showAllDiscs=true to work
To reveal the complete album in ths situation, select ">> Complete Album". This shows two choices: Hide Contents and the album name. Select the album name to see the complete album.

Last track on disc 1 - Revolver. The problem is that for track 18 you've stored the artist as "Madonna lil Wayne", so all but one of the tracks belongs to "Madonna" which is why you're seeing an incomplete album. Artist is a multi-value tag, so you should be storing them as: Code: TRACK 1: ARTIST: MadonnadBpoweramp uses a semicolon to indicate the separate values in a multi-value tag, so if you changed it to "Madonna; Lil Wayne" (which would store them as 2 separate artists) that should resolve the problem, that or use the AlbumArtist index. |

If it were, you would get the complete album as you expect. The track is tagged with the artist "Madonna Lil Wayne" which means browsing for the artist "Madonna" doesn't find it. If you intended to tag this track with two artists "Madonna" and "Lil Wayne", you can change this in a tagging program. With this change, browsing for Madonna will automatically show the complete album and browsing for "Lil Wayne" will show this track only. |

RE: Can't get showAllDiscs=true to work
Try as I might I cannot get this semicolon fix to work.
I have 4 copies of the Celebration album, Celebration, Celebration2, Celebration3, Celebration4. 2,3,4 are in another directory away from the original and have been used for testing the effects of the disc tags etc. However I have tonight changed all 4 to add the semicolon to the track that doesn't display. I've saved the changes and re-indexed, it still does not display in any of the 4 albums. Okay so I tried another track, I changed the artist from "Madonna" to "Madonna;test". That track vanished from the all artist view. The must be something else going on here, something I don't know about because it doesn't work. Thanks. Bob. |

RE: Can't get showAllDiscs=true to work
What tagging program did you use to make this change? Using a semicolon as a separator for multiple tag values is specific to dBpoweramp.
