MinimWatch for two MinimServers

I made sure that for both, starting at boot time and desktop integration is on and rebooted the PC. All I get are the two icons which is the desired outcome. Can you please explain the relationship between the local server and the local MinimWatch? How is it different than using MinimWatch to monitor a remote MinimServer? Many thanks!

When MinimWatch detects an instance of MinimServer, it looks to see if the instance has the same IP address and username as MinimWatch. If the IP address and username both match, MinimWatch doesn't show a tray icon.

This is to prevent two icons being shown for the same instance of MinimServer (one from MinimServer and one from MinimWatch). It would be confusing to have multiple icons for the same MinimServer instance.

OK, so if I have one local MinimServer running and additional 5 MinimServers running in the same network, all I have to do is run ./starti on the local server installation to get the icon and then run ./starti on the local MinimWatch to get additional 5 icons (1 per server)?

Hi Simon,

This happened again but this time, just after an update. Steps:

1. Got a message regarding an update
2. Went through the update
3. Update completed successfully
4. Upon restart of MinimServer, two icons came up.

When I chose one icon and clicked "Exit" both icons disappeared. Then, starting MinimServer properly from the terminal shows only one icon as it should.

Thanks for this. I have found the cause of this problem and it is fixed in MinimServer update 218. When you install this update and relaunch MinimServer, you should not see an additional icon.
