Thanks for confirming this. You should uninstall MinimServer 2 and select the option to not preserve your previous configuration and data. The wording of the ReadyNAS message that asks you about this is slightly confusing, so read it carefully. After this, install MinimServer 2 again and it should work.

Thank you. Will try a little later and report back.
On another note, I have the Seagate BarraCuda 1TB used as a back up which seems to have caused the cascade of events.
Im not keen on buying another one and online reviews suggest they are not reliable. Which H/D would you recommend.
Is the ReadyNAS Duo V2 coming to end of life and should i consider a new NAS?

HDD: WD Red. They are designed specifically for use in NAS. I have one and I have been very pleased with it. ReadyNAS: This is very old now and the OS platform has not been updated for many years. The market leaders for NAS are QNAP and Synology and I suggest you replace the ReadyNAS with a recent model from either of these, preferably with an ARMv8 processor.

Will look into QNAP & Synology. Is it a simple process to remove the hardrive from the Ready NAS Duo V2 and copy onto new drive/NAS?

Copying data from one NAS hard drive to another is tricky because each NAS has its own proprietary way to format the drive. The simplest way to is to set up a network share on the old NAS (you already have this) and access this network share from the new NAS as a remote drive. You can then use "File Station" (or similar) on the new NAS to copy the data over. It will not be quick but it should be simple and reliable.

Whats your thoughts on the Melco N100 EX HDD?
Is the extra worth it over a NAS?

A NAS does many other things as well as storing and playing music files. The N100 is intended only for storing and playing music. Do you only want to play music or do you want to use the NAS for other things as well, such as backing up other files, storing photos or videos, etc.?

If you only want to play music, it should sound better when played from an N100. Whether the difference is enough to justify the extra cost is something you can only decide by listening to it.
