WAV Tags and Sound Quality

I use WAV files for the most part and have used Metadatics on my Mac for tagging and curating my library. I have not noticed any difference in sound. Currently I have MinimServer installed on a Synology D411slim, I use PlugPlayer as the control point, and a Resolution Audio Cantata as the renderer. About the only problem I have is that there is a tick/pop or scratching sound in between tracks. Usually occurs if I have resampled or changed the bit depth of the file (using Sample Manager). In native format these issues are much rarer but tend to happen on native Hirez files.
