SONOS work very fine with many UPnP server as for example Foobar2000+PluginUPnP and with Asset UPnP from DbPowerAmp

These servers have added special code to emulate Windows Media Server or Rhapsody. MinimServer is a fully compliant UPnP server that is not emulating anything else.

I have made a suggestion (twice) about a possible solution using BubbleUPnP Server as a proxy. Have you tried this?

Another option is to use a Sonos-compatible media server such as the recently announced Linux version of Asset UPnP.
