Does this explain the behaviour you have been seeing or do I need to do more investigation?

I think what I'm seeing is that a rescan does not pick up a changed file in Recently added but a relaunch or restart does. So if there was a spurious rescan it wouldn't change anything.

The issue remains that with release 209 and later, Recently added picks up tag changes in Recently added which is incorrect.
In 208 tag changes do not get shown in Recently added either after a rescan or restart/relaunch.
This is for files updated by MediaMonkey that reside on my QNAP and are copied to the Melco.
The QNAP instance of MinimServer (where the files are not copied) is fine
