RE: Strange issue with Minim on WHS2011
There's no point in installing or running MinimWatch on the server.

If MinimWatch on another PC isn't picking up MinimServer, this means there's a problem in how MinimServer is talking to the network.

I suppose this might be a firewall problem (as you originally suggested). If you're using a firewall on the WHS machine that requires you to authorise specific applications to open network ports for listening, and if MinimServer isn't in this list of authorised applications, you'll get the kind of problems you're describing. Can you disable the firewall completely for a short test to confirm whether this might be the problem?

If this isn't the problem, there are a couple of other things you could try:

1) What happens if you click "Show log" from the green tray icon for MinimServer on the WHS machine? What do you see in the log?

2) Another useful thing to try would be to use the MinimServer tray icon to change the logging level to Trace and then restart MinimServer. If you do this and look in the log after the restart, what trace information do you see in the log?
