You need to put the ffmpeg file in the MinimServer opt/bin directory. This full path to this directory is listed in this section (see the last bullet).

The .bin file for 0.8.5.3 is larger because it includes the Java runtime. See point 3 on this page.

You should not copy the 0.8.5.3 .bin file to the NAS. When you install a ReadyNAS add-on, the ReadyNAS installer prompts you to select the .bin file for the add-on from your PC and does the copying itself.
