RE: Minimwatch problems on ubuntu gnome
ubuntu 17.10 has given me the run-around on application indicators. After much mucking around and searching of the bug reports, I found that after uninstalling a number of indicator-... packages the "Ubuntu appindicators" gnome/ubuntu extension made all application indicators work, except, you guessed it, minimwatch. (See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...ug/1728449 for one of the bug reports).
I had to add the "Topicons Plus" extension to see the minimwatch icons. One isn't meant to need this, "Ubuntu appindicators" supposedly doing the work to move icons from bottom left to top right (which it does for most), but unfortunately not minimwatch, which reports 'Unable to create tray icon'. With ubuntu things are further confused by having a range of ways to logon. I am currently using 'Ubuntu Xorg', which as I understand it is now an ubuntu flavour of gnome. I know this isn't your bug, and I do now have a workaround, so all is well, for now.... |
