An album is shown the same way consistently in all views. It doesn't matter whether you navigate to it via All Artists or via Artist or via Composer or via Date, etc. I don't think it is likely that this will be changed in the future.

It can be useful to have an AlbumArtist tag if the contents of the album aren't all in a single folder. Without an AlbumArtist tag (or a single consistent Artist tag for all tracks), the album contents might not be merged correctly.

You can handle this by setting AlbumArtist to the list of artists, if this is the artist information that you want to be displayed consistently whenever you view the album.
