New here & some Properties questions

I use AlbumArtist tags for all files (mostly Jazz). A lot of my albums involve various cooperating artists, for instance half of the album could be this drummer, the other half another drummer. Any album solely on the name of the lead Artist, even though there are other Artists involved, will have the lead's name as the AlbumArtist. If the album is clearly a group effort where no one is in the lead (2+ people), I tag AlbumArtist as Various Artists.

So do I understand correctly now that it will always show AlbumArtist if present, and will use All Artists if AlbumArtist is empty? Can I manipulate that behaviour in the settings, or would I have to clear all AlbumArtist fields in my database (rather not)?

At home in Europe I use a Naim streamer. Here in South America I can only use my laptop unfortunately. Where Foobar is not very easy to use as a control point to check these sort of things. So I am using my iPad with either VLC or Arcam MusicLife at the moment for this Tagging/Minimserver purpose only. Love to hear for a better alternative than foobar on my laptop though.
