Transcoding flac to aiff

Seems like AIFF would be the best of both worlds and is supported via FFMpeg.

This isn't possible currently. What would be the advantage of this over transcoding to WAV? In both cases, the transcoded stream wouldn't contain any metadata.

I'm also not sure why it's a problem not to have metadata in the transcoded stream. It's up to the control point to send the renderer any metadata that it requires.
