RE: Announcing MinimServer 2.1
When you install a new update and relaunch, there should not be a rescan. However, in update 210 and previous versions there was a bug that could in some cases cause an unintended rescan to happen as part of a relaunch. This bug is fixed in update 211 but because update 210 has the bug, updating from 210 to 211 could still cause an unintended rescan.
Does this explain the behaviour you have been seeing or do I need to do more investigation? |

I think what I'm seeing is that a rescan does not pick up a changed file in Recently added but a relaunch or restart does. So if there was a spurious rescan it wouldn't change anything. The issue remains that with release 209 and later, Recently added picks up tag changes in Recently added which is incorrect. In 208 tag changes do not get shown in Recently added either after a rescan or restart/relaunch. This is for files updated by MediaMonkey that reside on my QNAP and are copied to the Melco. The QNAP instance of MinimServer (where the files are not copied) is fine |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2.1
The simplest way for me to identify whether there is still a problem that needs fixing is to create a scenario on 211 that shows the problem. Doing this on 208/209/210 will not achieve this because these have known bugs which could confuse the picture.
Please update to 211 and then do the following: 1) Rescan on the Melco to establish a baseline for the Recently added list 2) Modify a file using MediaMonkey and export the change to the Melco 3) Do a Restart on the Melco (using MinimWatch) 4) Check the Recently added list on the Melco 5) Do a Relaunch on the Melco (using the Packages tab in MinimWatch) 6) Check the Recently added list on the Melco 7) Do a Rescan on the Melco 8) Check the Recently added list on the Melco Do any of steps 4, 6 or 8 show a change to the Recently added list? |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2.1
Simon,
Glad you bring sanity to the testing. Upgraded to 211 on the Melco 1) Rescan on the Melco to establish a baseline for the Recently added list - shows 16 playlists and the ABBA Gold CD in Recently added Last day 2) Modify a file using MediaMonkey and export the change to the Melco - updated Adele 25 album, copied changes to Melco. Melco shows Date Created and Modified as 08 Jan 2022 3) Do a Restart on the Melco (using MinimWatch) 4) Check the Recently added list on the Melco - shows 16 playlists and the ABBA Gold CD in Recently added Last day 5) Do a Relaunch on the Melco (using the Packages tab in MinimWatch) 6) Check the Recently added list on the Melco - shows 16 playlists and the ABBA Gold CD in Recently added Last day 7) Do a Rescan on the Melco 8) Check the Recently added list on the Melco - shows 16 playlists and the ABBA Gold CD in Recently added Last day So all is showing as you expected and I hoped I suspect that ABAA Gold got added at some point using 209 or 210, and once added it doesn't get removed by later scans, something I had forgotten when I started my testing. Sorry for causing an non existing issue Just glad its all working Peter |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2.1
No problem and glad all appears well with 211. Thanks for your work on testing this. As no problems have been reported with 211, I have enabled it as an automatic update.

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2.1
Loving the recently played feature. I just today noticed that if you don't play a full album the display is subtly different on the main screen - the name of the artist which is normally shown below the album title is missing as shown below...
Is this a design choice or a feature of the dynamic navigation? I would prefer to always see the artist name. Thanks Dave |
