Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

It would be possible to show the list of albums immediately after the user selects the time period if and only if there are no playlists that match the time period. I would welcome comments from other users about this.

Edit: To clarify, this would only happen if listViewAlbums has been configured.

I like the way it operates currently.

More often I go to Items rather than Albums for Recently Played. For Recently Added I tend to go for Albums.

If you wish to keep the way Added and Played the same, I vote for the current method of operation.

I think my previous post might not have been clear. What I suggested would only happen if listViewAlbums has been configured. I will edit the post to clarify.

Whatever is decided, Recently Added and Recently Played will always work the same way.

I am a very 'album based' listener so for me going straight to a list of albums (ideally missing out the time period) would be perfect for me....

I am not sure what "recent" would mean without a time period (almost certainly different things to different people).

I have made this change in MinimServer update 209 (now available). This update can be installed manually from the About dialog (Show updates) or
from the Packages tab of the Properties dialog.

When listViewAlbums is in effect, Recently Added shows a list of all recently added albums, sorted by most recent first. This list can include [no album] if there are recently added tracks with no album and it can include 'n playlists' if there are recently added playlists. If present, [no album] and 'n playlists' are sorted in their correct historical positions in the list.

The display under Recently Played is the same as Recently Added except that the list doesn't contain playlists.

I have updated to 209 on my Melco but not sure what has changed. I think its behaving the same way as 208. Or maybe I'm just confused :-)

As you have listViewAlbums set to 50, you will get the new display if your total number of recent albums is 50 or fewer.

It looks like you have more that 50 recent albums but less than 50 albums under Last day. It makes sense to treat this specially as well but the code in update 209 doesn't handle this. I feel another update is coming....
