RE: New installation teething problems
Thanks for confirming. It sounds like you were able previously to see the MinimServer icon on your desktop. I am not sure what has changed now.
Please try running ps -ef | grep mserver This will show which MinimServer processes are running. Also, are you running a recent version of GNOME Shell? This requires the TopIcons Plus add-on to show the MinimServer icon. |

RE: New installation teething problems
MinimServer did not start automatically for some reason. Which version of Linux are you running? Can you start MinimServer from the desktop applications start menu?

I am running openSUSE Leap 15.3. Yes I can start MinimServer from start menu no problem and have done so. I now have a brilliant yellow icon as minimserver goes through the data. Looking at the log I note there are very many errors in my data, mainly from BBC downloads with wrong or incorrect tagging. Bottom line is that I now have a green icon so all is well but not sure how it will be on re-boot. Once this machine has been set up it will be working remotely so the reboot must work. Will try it now and report. Many thanks once more Simon, sorry to make so much work. Budge PS I caught this on edit after a reboot. No Icon until I start manually. |

Phone, server and renderers all on same subnet. From phone I can see both renderers that are available here but cannot see any libraries even after restarting phone. Firewall? Which protocols and ports to open please? |

RE: New installation teething problems
Glad to hear your firewall settings are working now.
Regarding automatic startup, I have not tried this on OpenSUSE beause I don't have an installation of OpenSUSE here. I will try installing OpenSUSE to see what happens when I configure automatic startup. |

RE: New installation teething problems
I have installed OpenSUSE Leap and automatic startup is working for me. I configured my installation with KDE Plasma (first in the list). Are you using this or something else?
Although automatic startup seems to work reliably, the MinimServer desktop system tray icon is not displaying at it should and I have had a few "random" crashes from MinimServer. |

Are you using this or something else? Hi simon, The automatic startup worked for recent re-boots. I have not seen any crashes but for some reason I now cannot get any playlists to load on any of the renderers, the more reliable Linn Majik or the RPi/Upmpdcli IQaudio headless renderer. From the BubbleDS app I can see the renderers and the minimserver library but when I try and move an album into the enqueue and play, nothing appears in my playlist. Have I missed something obvious? Regards, Alastair |
