RE: DSM7, Java and MinimServer
The permissions problems with the profiles folder on DSM 7 is fixed in MinimServer update 196, now available.

The problem was fixed by changing the path of the profiles folder from MinimServer/profiles to MinimServer/opt/profiles. I have updated this post with the new location for this folder.

When I try this, I see MinimServer is ticked for read/write. What did you see for this setting after you first installed MinimServer on DSM 7?

If I remember correctlly, it was ticked as R/W

I think I had to give the read permission for the music folder to the MinimServer internal system user

That was long time ago...

RE: DSM7, Java and MinimServer
There was a problem with using opt/profiles for the backup profiles folder. This folder is not preserved when uninstalling MinimServer from DSM 6. The fix is to change this location from opt/profiles to etc/profiles and I have released update 197 with this change.
